Centennial Corner:
I wrote last week about how our current church’s architecture is “simple”, modeled after St. Therese. Her focus was on Jesus & the Eucharist without distractions. As you gaze at out altar the main two items you see are the crucified Jesus &the Eucharist Jesus in the tabernacle. St. Therese cherished receiving Communion and spending time praying in front of the tabernacle. If only we can follow her example, like our church, the path is simple, but hard.Centennial Corner - This Sunday October 18th Blessed Louis & Zelie Martin will be canonized as Saints. This marks the first time a married couple will be canonized together. How appropriate for the parents of St. Therese. The Catholic Church calls all men & women, whatever their state in life, to seek holiness & sainthood. We believe that anyone can become a saint. The Church does not make saints; it recognizes someone who is in heaven. The Church is looking for those whose lives are worth imitating & should be held up as an example to the Church. Let’s pray to St’s Louis & Zelie for their guidance & intercession that we all may become saints.
